Is there much point in scanning the steel samples in 2mm slices along the BD? If so - any of the 9 preferred? I run the slit tomorrow...

will do - robot delayed to FRI or SAT since I need to get some calibration runs for my PDF molten salt stuff done before I remove the furnace. <10 days between receipt and data is still good turn around...
