URF meetings Part I: Requested Preparations (October 2022)

Dear colleagues of the URF Network,

The first, virtual part of this year’s meeting of the Network October 17-19 is fast approaching, and we have prepared a program similar to the first part of last years’ virtual URF Network meeting. Note that as some nominations are still reaching us, we are sending this email to our entire mailing list for the URF Network – please ignore if you cannot join this years’ meeting.

ACTION, your input to this meeting (details further below):

  1. ALL: Present updated information concerning the national DGR programme*
  2. URF operators: We also ask information on potential URF RD&D cooperation from those programmes offering such an opportunity (not all participants, only those where international cooperation is possible). Please inform us by Wednesday next week, if you intend to contribute a 10 minute presentation on this subject.
  3. On training opportunities: Finally, we ask information on training courses or workshops that the national programme might offer and open for international participation specific to DGR competences. Please inform us by Wednesday next week, if you have relevant information to share on opportunities for international colleagues to sign up and join a training course or workshop offered in your country.

*for ACTION 1: The agenda will include a brief update on global progress in the national DGR programmes, and below we ask for you to send us your specific input to this.

For the programmes still in early stage planning for future development and those having only recently emerged: we will again develop a synthetic overview and present that to participants. We would therefore ask representatives of those DGR programmes to please fill in the attached template, emphasizing updates that may have happened since last year. For us to be able to develop this summary, please send the filled in template before next week Wednesday.

For the programmes currently progressing with siting, licensing or construction, could we ask you to please provide a brief update on the national DGR programme you represent. For this, kindly refer to your presentation shared last year – accessible on the CONNECT site here: vTM 2021. Then only share relevant information on major updates, sharing most important experience from this as you see fit. We suggest to limit this to 5 to 10 minutes max. You can send your presentation to us ahead of time and we will upload it to CONNECT [URF TM 2022]; or share it with us during the meeting.

Looking forward to seeing you online October 17-19.

Note: A separate request for contributions to the agenda of part II, November 7-9, will be sent separately.

Kind regards,

Karina and Stefan
