Dear Francois,
Thanks for the program and few comments on the proposed agenda, listed below.
Emergency and Medical topics: discussion on IAEC needs and possible CEA support OK
- New collaboration proposal: Thermosyphon flow in a non-uniform asymmetric thermal field OK
- Radiation damage by protons (I still need to secure the participation of a CEA counterpart on this topic) Ok in collaboration with Guy Makov
- Renewable energies: follow up of Grenoble visit I did not had a chance to follow our discussion on renewable energies, as I traveled to SOLIEL yesterday. We need some time to evaluate the agreed topics. One topic, which involve Guy Makov (Thermodynamic properties of dense H) can be discussed
On rest of topics, I suggest to exchange Emails including possible PI's.
o Date - logistics – agenda I suggest to leave that to Maya (cc'd)
o Technical presentations To be discussed at the final preparation with IAEC Chief Scientist (cc'd)
o Progress on ongoing collaborations Glad to to that (for topics related to NRCN)
o Proposals to the SC for new collaborations OK

Dear Eyal,
We are looking forward meeting you and M. Makov next Monday in Saclay.
As we already discussed, we propose to have lunch together around 12:30 in our building (121). I will come to pick you up at CEA main gate (porte Nord) when you arrive (don’t hesitate to call me on my mobile as soon as you get to the entrance).
The meeting itself is set to start at 2 pm to end before 4 pm.
We propose the following agenda:
- Emergency and Medical topics: discussion on IAEC needs and possible CEA support OK
- New collaboration proposal: Thermosyphon flow in a non-uniform asymmetric thermal field OK
- Radiation damage by protons (I still need to secure the participation of a CEA counterpart on this topic) Ok
- Renewable energies: follow up of Grenoble visit
- Preparation of 12th IAEC-CEA Steering Committee Meeting
o Date - logistics – agenda
o Technical presentations
o Progress on ongoing collaborations
o Proposals to the SC for new collaborations
Please feel free to send me your comments on this proposal.
Best regards,

Dear François ,
Thanks for your efforts.
I suggest we set the meeting on March 28th as you suggested, and will be in touch prior to it. as I will have better understanding of the time required for us to wrap-up the experiment @ Soleil. It ends on the 28th @ 8am.
Our flight back to IL departs at 9pm from CDG.
I kindly remind that Prof. Guy Makov (BGU) will join me.
Guy is a long time collaborator on topics related to simulation and experiments of radiation damage to materials.
As for the coming visit at Grenoble, we gladly accept your kind proposal for joined dinner.
Maya (cc'd) and IAEC staff are in charge to make reservation as suggested.

Dear Eyal,
I wish to confirm that Stéphane and I will be available to meet you on March 28th in Saclay.
If it is convenient for you, we propose have lunch together around 12:30 in CEA Saclay and then meet for a couple of hours to follow up with the visit in Grenoble and touch on other issues related to the bilateral meeting preparation. Please let me know if it is OK for you.
Regarding the visit in Grenoble on March 15th, I assume that you will arrive in Grenoble on the 14th. Based on our Grenoble colleagues’ advice, I can suggest that you book some rooms in the following hotel in the vicinity of the CEA centre : NOVOTEL GRENOBLE CENTRE: https://all.accor.com/hotel/1624/index.fr.shtml?utm_campaign=seo+maps&utm_medium=seo+maps&utm_source=google+Maps
We will propose you to have dinner together on the 14th near this hotel. You will find enclosed an access map of the CEA centre.
A visit program will be sent to you soon.

Hello Eyal,
That could be a good opportunity for preparing the HL SC one again and a kind of follow-up of Grenoble.
However, I will be flying back to France from holidays on the 28th, so I let it In the hands of François to organize it.
By the way, we are progressing to find the right person(s) for your question on emergency situations.
Best regards,
Jean-Yves

Dear Jean-Yves and François,
Between March 21st and 28th I will be at Soleil for measurements and Guy Makov is joining (JY met him plenty of times).
I thought to take advantage of the close proximity to Saclay and set a meeting to specifically explore potential topics of simulation and/or experiments related to radiation damage.
I would like to suggest Monday the 28th, as we conclude our experiment at 8am and can be free around noon.
Our flight back is at 9pm.
Other option is Friday the 25th, however, it is in the midst of the experiment, so a bit risky.
I am sorry that I am still approaching you on these matters, as you are familiar with Guy and the topics we collaborated on in the past.
