I hope this message finds you all well.

We would to share a problem we encountered and appreciate your advice on the performance of the instrument we purchased.

 

As you probably recall, the instrument has been received in Israel, in January 2021 but was installed only in April 2022 by iumtek personnel (Covid-19 issues). 

During the installation, instrument operation was demonstrated with a single Aluminum standard.

 

Since then, we have learned how to operate the instrument for its basic features. 

Next, we tested multiple standards (Aluminum mostly) to build and calibrate an analytical method for impurities measurements and acquire a database for Aluminum matrixes.

 

During the development process, we noticed the following:

1.       Instrument sensitivity is poor and prevents measuring low-level impurities.

2.       Repeatability of the signal (at consecutive laser shots) is not good as expected.

 

In addition, the auto-focusing function doesn’t work very well.

Clearly, we need to resolve these issues and appreciate suggestions how to improve sensitivity and repeatability. 

 

I suggest that Arnon (cc'd) will send you some typical spectrums of Aluminum standards (maybe one that has been supplied with the instrument and additional ones). We can also send certification of analysis.
