Subject: WASSC-51 ‒ Message #3 ‒ Safety Report on the Attribution of Radiation Health Effects and Inference of Radiation Risks: Considerations for Application of the IAEA Safety Standards
Importance: High
Dear WASSC members and observers,
This refers to the Safety Report on the Attribution of Radiation Health Effects and Inference of Radiation Risks: Considerations for Application of the IAEA Safety Standards.
In its eighth term, the WASSC has taken some actions on the aforementioned Safety Report, for example, the Committee welcomed the decision to develop a Safety Report at
WASSC-45 meeting in July 2018 and a WASSC representative volunteered to participate in drafting it; in addition, the Committee was briefed on the progress on this Safety Report at
WASSC-47 and
WASSC-48, and this was agreed at the latter meeting in October 2019, and I quote from the meeting Report that
“… WASSC will be updated on the progress and the draft will be shared with the Committee members. The final text will not be submitted to the Committees for approval but Committee comments will be taken into account in finalizing the text.".
In light of the above, I would like to inform you that the draft Safety Report has been posted on the
WASSC-51 web folder for your consideration. For your convenience, I am also attaching the draft Report and would be grateful if you could post any comments
by 1st July 2021.
I remain available for any queries you may have.
Best regards,
Ms Nelli Aghajanyan
