Dear Professor Eliaz,

I am pleased to inform you that your manuscript received positive feedback from the reviewers. However, the reviewers have indicated that the manuscript needs to be improved according to the recommendations given below before publication.

Additionally your literature survey needs improvement; please expand it. Additional related papers can be found in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy (IJHE), as well as in other energy and fuel cells related publications.

Please carefully address the issues raised in the comments (please see below), and submit your revised version by 05-25-2021.

Please, also provide a separate "response to reviews" letter, in which you outline each change made (point by point) as raised in the reviewer comments, and provide a suitable rebuttal to each reviewer comment, which is not addressed in the revised version of your manuscript.

Check the order of listed authors (mandatory)

Please ensure the order of listed authors is correct on the "Add/Edit/Remove Authors" step of the submission process and also within the manuscript file itself.  You may update the author order during the current revision process, but we restrict these changes after acceptance.  Please ensure the author list is reflected correctly as you resubmit your manuscript.

Provide an editable manuscript file and figure source files (mandatory)

We cannot accommodate PDF manuscript files for production purposes. We also ask that when submitting your revision you follow the journal formatting guidelines.  Figures and tables may be embedded within the source file for the submission as long as they are of sufficient resolution for production. For any figure that cannot be embedded within the source file (such as *.PSD Photoshop files), the original figure needs to be uploaded separately. Refer to the Guide for Authors for additional information.

Provide an editable Highlights file (mandatory)

Highlights consist of a short collection of bullet points that convey the core findings of the article and should be submitted in a separate file in the online submission system. Please use 'Highlights' in the file name and include 3 to 5 bullet points (maximum 85 characters/keystrokes per bullet point, including the spaces among the words). Reviewers' comments:

Reviewer #5: In this paper, with hydrogenation experiments, the author elucidated whether the presence of two or more phases in the microstructure is vital for the voids to form, and verified that void formation was not affected by a specific hydrogenation cell setup and and the formation of black residues. Therefore, the author proposed possible mechanisms for hydrogen-induced formation of microvoids and bubbles in titanium-based alloys. It is very meaningful research. So the reviewer recommends its publication on International Journal of Hydrogen Energy after some mini revisions:
1.The author should check carefully the whole paper to avoid input errors, such as incomplete brackets appeared in the abstract.
2.The abbreviation "CP-Ti" appears at first time in page 2 of the manuscript, but the author did not provide its full name, which should be revised. it is also suggested for the author to check the manuscript to prevent the phenomenon.

Reviewer #7: The manuscript describes an experimental study to account for the occurrence of microvoids in Titanium-Based Alloys. The contents are well organized and makes sense. I suggest publication of the manuscript as it is.

Data in Brief (optional):

We invite you to convert your supplementary data (or a part of it) into an additional journal publication in Data in Brief, a multi-disciplinary open access journal. A Data in Brief article (which will be reviewed, formatted, indexed, and given a DOI) will make your data easier to find, reproduce, and cite.

You can submit to Data in Brief via the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy submission system when you upload your revised International Journal of Hydrogen Energy manuscript. To do so, complete the template and follow the co-submission instructions found here: www.elsevier.com/dib-template. If your International Journal of Hydrogen Energy manuscript is accepted, your Data in Brief submission will automatically be transferred to Data in Brief for editorial review and publication.

Please note: an open access Article Publication Charge (APC) is payable by the author or research funder to cover the costs associated with publication in Data in Brief and ensure your data article is immediately and permanently free to access by all.
