Subject : Decision on submission to Analyst - AN-ART-11-2022-001829

10-Nov-2022

Dear Dr Zeiri:

Manuscript ID: AN-ART-11-2022-001829
Title: Argentometric chloride determination by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy in a wide range of sample matrices

Thank you for your recent submission to Analyst, published by the Royal Society of Chemistry. All manuscripts are initially assessed by the editors to ensure they meet the criteria for publication in the journal.

The Editorial Board of Analyst have recently reviewed and revised the criteria for publication in the journal with regards to quality and impact. As a result, the acceptance level of the journal will decrease. Work published in Analyst should represent a premier fundamental discovery in the analytical and bioanalytical sciences. Routine and incremental work, however competently researched and reported, will not be considered for publication.

After careful evaluation of your manuscript and consultation with the editorial team, I regret to inform you that I do not find your manuscript suitable for publication in Analyst because it does not meet the significant novelty criteria required for publication in Analyst. The proposed approach, including molecular simulations and fluorescence competitive binding experiment to understand thyroid hormone transporters binding affinity of methoxy polychlorinated biphenyls, is somewhat interesting, but this paper is more methodological than fundamental. Furthermore, this paper lacks novelty in analytical methodologies. Since Analyst aims to report the fundamental advances of analytical sciences, this topic is not suitable for the readership of Analyst. Therefore, your article has been rejected from Analyst.

Please note that Analyst is currently accepting <20% of submitted manuscripts.

Full details of the initial assessment process can be found at:

I am sorry not to have better news for you, however, thank you for giving Analyst the opportunity to consider your manuscript. I wish you every success in publishing this manuscript elsewhere.

Yours sincerely,

Professor Jaebum Choo
Associate Editor, Analyst
